The ECITB in collaboration with Step Change in Safety has introduced a method of training and validating skills in the specialist critical bolting area.
Approved bolting training courses derived from the new ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity technical training standards cover assembly and disassembly, dismantling techniques, inspection of components, alignment techniques and clamp connectors as well as assembly and tightening techniques in specialist critical bolting.
The technical bolting training standards and 4 Stage Mechanical Joint Integrity Training and Competency Model are provided below:
- Hand Torque Bolting Training MJI 10 (1 day training)
- Hand & Hydraulic Torque Bolting Training MJI 10/19 (1,5 days training)
- Hydraulic Tensioning Bolting Training MJI 18 (1 day training)
- Hand, Hydraulic Torque & Hydraulic Tensioning Bolting Training MJI 19 (1 day training – MJI 10 required)
