Flange Facing AX1445

Introducing the Silk AX1445, a lightweight, portable flange facing, grooving, and weld preparation machine. Designed to handle full-faced, raised face, and grooved flanges, the AX1445 covers a diameter range from 355mm to 1140mm (14’’ to 45’’), making it versatile for various industrial applications.

Main Assemblies:

1. Base Assembly:
   • Two sizes of bases ensure maximum stability throughout the machining range.
   • Bases are set up using a clocking tower bar to centralize and level the base exactly.
   • Adjustable parallel to the flange by four micro pads, with a detachable locating spigot for accurate positioning.
2. Drive Hub:
   • Contains a 2.61kw (3.5hp) air motor, providing ample power for various materials and conditions.
   • Quiet operation with exhaust vented down the bore and muffled by its body.
3. Drive Gearbox:
   • Equipped with a Silk four-speed gearbox, allowing for continuous spiral finishes with feed in or out.
4. Adjustable Arm and Toolpost:
   • Sliding in a dovetail clamp for flexible positioning.
   • Clamped on the dovetail and pressed down onto hardened pads for accuracy.
   • Swivel toolpost can be tilted for weld preparation, grooving, or special applications.
