At Patriot International, we're proud of the deep expertise our team possesses. Pete, Colin, and Roy bring over 70 years of combined industry experience, having witnessed significant change, innovation, and growth.

We recently caught up with these three in our Aberdeen workshop. Their diverse journeys and dedication are instrumental in developing our trainees.

Pete: From Apprentice to Seasoned Trainer

For Pete, engineering came naturally. He started as an apprentice toolmaker. Though he wanted to be a mechanic, his school results led him to engineering, a path he embraced. With over 35 years in the industry, Pete's knowledge is immense, gained from working in environments from coal mines to submarines. He's been a trainer for over 25 years, sharing that knowledge. He's a steady hand in our workshop, guiding trainees with practical wisdom honed over decades.

Colin: From Chef to Global Offshore Expert and Trainer

Colin's career trajectory is perhaps the most unexpected, yet equally inspiring. He started as a chef, but his real dream was to be a pilot. While the skies might not have been his ultimate workplace, his journey led him to another exciting and demanding environment: the oil and gas industry. He spent 16 years working offshore and travelling the world before becoming a technical trainer. Colin has been a vital part of our training team, bringing a wealth of real-world, international experience to our trainees.

Roy: A Lifelong Passion for Mechanical Engineering

Unlike Pete and Colin, Roy's career path has been consistently rooted in his core passion. He always wanted to be in the engineering industry, and after leaving school, he immediately embarked on a modern apprenticeship in mechanical engineering. His career then led him to manage water supplies for various companies, further broadening his technical expertise. For the last three years, Roy has been our dedicated workshop supervisor, overseeing the vital operations that keep our training running smoothly. With 20 years in the industry, Roy's unwavering dedication and deep-seated passion for mechanical engineering make him an invaluable leader and mentor in our workshop.

These three individuals, with their combined 70+ years of industry experience, are more than just trainers; they are the living embodiment of Patriot International's commitment to excellence and nurturing the next generation of skilled professionals. Their diverse backgrounds and shared dedication create a dynamic learning environment where our trainees gain not only technical skills but also invaluable insights into resilience, adaptability, and the vast opportunities within our industry.
