Patriot was asked to develop a safe and effective method of cutting and bevelling a number of heavy wall CrM material pipework which had been exposed to very high temperatures on a production plant in Oman. We conducted cutting trials with various cutting tools at our Dordrecht facility to prove that it could be achieved to the required standard and within the timescale given. Also due to the close proximity of the pipework to structural steelwork which was fixed and could not be removed, we had to provide low profile machines and tool holders in order to access the cut lines. Having successfully completed the trials, we mobilised all machines and ancillary equipment together with 4 specialist teams of machinists to complete the task.
The project was completed according to scope and within the timescale allocated amid some arduous site conditions.
