About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Workshop Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support the ongoing maintenance, repair, and overhaul of mechanical equipment within our workshop. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who takes pride in quality workmanship and safe work practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on pumps, motors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment
- Strip, inspect, repair, and reassemble mechanical components
- Conduct alignment, fitting, and assembly work to specification
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and housekeeping standards
- Follow maintenance schedules, procedures, and safety requirements
- Complete job cards, service reports, and maintenance records
- Work closely with supervisors and other trades to meet production targets
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance or workshop-based roles
- Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, manuals, and specifications
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong safety awareness and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
Qualifications (Required / Desirable)
- Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Maintenance, or equivalent
- Experience with pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment (desirable)
- Forklift, overhead crane, or dogging tickets (desirable)
- Valid driver’s license
