About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Workshop Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support the ongoing maintenance, repair, and overhaul of mechanical equipment within our workshop. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who takes pride in quality workmanship and safe work practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on pumps, motors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment
  • Strip, inspect, repair, and reassemble mechanical components
  • Conduct alignment, fitting, and assembly work to specification
  • Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and housekeeping standards
  • Follow maintenance schedules, procedures, and safety requirements
  • Complete job cards, service reports, and maintenance records
  • Work closely with supervisors and other trades to meet production targets

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance or workshop-based roles
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, manuals, and specifications
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong safety awareness and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated

Qualifications (Required / Desirable)

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Maintenance, or equivalent
  • Experience with pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment (desirable)
  • Forklift, overhead crane, or dogging tickets (desirable)
  • Valid driver’s license
